THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE DEGRADED GRASSLANDS THROUGH RADICAL RECOVERY

Abstract
Grasslands, through their productions, contribute to the fodder supplies with a forage rich in digestible nutritive substances, well consumed by the ruminants and horses. The grasslands' functions are complex and they balance multiple ecological, economical and social aspects. The permanent grasslands degraded by the lack of improving measures' application and by an irrational use present a destroyed vegetal carpet, with a low covering percentage and an improper floristic composition, which conduct to small and low qualitative productions. These grasslands can be improved by radical recovery (plough and seeding a mixture of valuable graminee and leguminous species). By establishing temporary grasslands as a replacement of the degraded permanent ones, we obtained in the southwestern area of Braila County production increases of 25 - 82%. The fodder obtained from the temporary grasslands is high qualitative and can provide the necessary supplies for the fodder base.

Rezumat
Pajistile, prin productiile lor, contribuie la completarea ratiilor furajere cu un nutret bogat în substante nutritive digestibile, consumatr cu placere de catre rumegatoare si cabaline. Functiile pajistilor sunt complexe si regleaza multiple aspecte de ordin ecologic, economic si social.
Pajistile permanente degradate de neaplicarea unui complex de masuri de îmbunatatire si de o folosire nerationala prezinta covorul vegetal distrus, cu un grad scazut de acoperire si o compozitie floristica necorespunzatoare, ceea ce face ca productiile sa fie mici si de slaba calitate. Ameliorarea pajistilor degradate se poate face prin refacere radicala (destelenire si însamântarea unui amestec de seminte de graminee si leguminoase valoroase).
Prin înfiintarea pajistilor temporare, în locul pajistilor permanente degradate, în zona de S-V a judetului Braila s-au obtinut sporuri de productie de 60 - 120%.
Furajul obtinut de la pajistile temporare este valoros calitativ si poate asigura necesarul pentru baza furajera.
