PREDICTION OF BREEDING VALUE OF RAMS FOR GROWTH OF LIVE WEIGHT BY PROGENY TEST, EVALUATED BY THREE METHODS

Abstract
The researches were made on a sheep population of 8 rams of Suffolk breed, 51 ewes of Palas Merino breed and 54 male descendants to which the growths of live weight during the period from birth to 5 months were determined. The heritability of the growth and the breeding value of the rams were estimated by REML method [4]. The breeding value of the rams was also estimated by other two methods, [1], [2], [3], [5]. The value of h2= 0,55 for the growth of live weight at lambs makes the estimation of the breeding value of rams also efficient by the 2 presented methodologies, which are less modern comparatively to BLUP. In this case the selection by the own performance becomes also efficient.

ESTIMAREA VALORII DE AMELIORARE LA BERBECI PENTRU SPORUL DE CREŞTERE ÎN GREUTATE, DUPĂ PERFORMANŢELE DESCENDENŢILOR, COMPARATIV PRIN TREI METODOLOGII DE CALCUL

Rezumat
Cercetările s-au efectuat pe o populaţie de ovine constituită din 8 berbeci din rasa Suffolk, 51 oi Merinos de Palas şi 54 descendenţi masculi la care s-au determinat sporurile de creştere în greutate în perioada naştere-5 luni. Heritabilitatea sporului de creştere şi valoarea de ameliorare a berbecilor s-au estimat prin metoda REML [4]. Deasemenea, valoarea de ameliorare a berbecilor a mai fost estimată prin alte două metode, [1], [2], [3], [5]. Valoarea h2= 0,55 pentru sporul de creştere în greutate la miei face eficientă estimarea valorii de ameliorare a berbecilor şi prin cele 2 metodologii prezentate, mai puţin moderne comparativ cu BLUP. În cazul de faţă devine eficientă şi selecţia după performanţa proprie.
