DETERMINATION THE EFFECTS OF VARYING LEVELS OF WHOLE COTTONSEED ON GOSSYPOL PLASMA AND PRODUCTION PARAMETERS IN EARLY LACTATING HOLSTEIN COWS

Abstract
A study was carried out to determine the effects of varying levels of whole cottonseed on gossypol plasma and production parameters in early lactating Holstein cows. Sixteen early lactating Holstein cows (DIM=39±5) were used in Latin Square design with 4 block and 4 repeats. Animals in each group fed 1 of 4 experimental ration containing (0, 7, 14 and 21 % Whole cottonseed on dry matter base).The diets were similar as crude protein and NEL on dry basis. Cows were fed with total mixed ration individually. Plasma Gossypol measurement was shown that diets were significant different (P<0.05), so that Plasma gossypol was higher for cows fed high whole cottonseed (14 and 20 % whole cottonseed) diets. Plasma gossypol of cows fed whole cottonseed were shown negative effects on milk fat and protein percentage and yields, but no effects on Dry matter intake and Milk production.

Rezumat
Studiul a fost efectuat pentru a determina efectele diferitelor doze de seminţe întregi de bumbac asupra plasmei Gossypol şi a parametrilor de producţie la vacile Holstein aflate într-o lactaţie timpurie. Şaisprezece vaci Holstein aflate într-o lactaţie timpurie (DIM=39±5) au fost studiate folosind metoda Latin Square cu 4 blocuri şi 4 repetiţii. Animale din fiecare grup au fost hrănite cu una din cele 4 raţii experimentale care conţin (0, 7, 14 şi 21% seminţe întregi de bumbac). Dietele au fost similare ca proteină brută şi NEL în substanţa uscată. Vacile au fost hrănite individual cu diferite tipuri de raţii. Măsurătorile efectuate asupra plasmei Gossypol au reliefat faptul că dietele diferă în mod semnificativ (P<0,05), astfel conţinutul de plasmă Gossypol a fost mai mare la vacile hrănite cu raţii ce conţin seminţe întregi de bumbac în proporţie de 14 şi 20 %. Plasma Gossypol a vacilor hrănite cu seminţe întregi de bumbac a influenţat în mod negativ procentul de grăsime şi de proteine din lapte dar nu au avut efecte asupra aportului de substanţă uscată şi asupra producţiei de lapte.
