RESEARCHES REGARDING THE MEAT APTITUDES OF SHEEP YOUTH FROM ROMANIAN INDIGENOUS BREEDS

Abstract
In this paper we studied the behaviour of the lambs in the fattening process, depending on breed, variety and gender. Concerning the daily weight gain, we noticed that the highest values were obtained by the Ţigaie group, meaning 140 g at males and 123 g at females. The lowest values were met in the case of the Ţurcană group in its white variety, meaning 116 g at males and 108 g at females. The dressing percentage was of 44.3% for males and of 39.9% for females at Ţigaie breed and of 42.8% for males and 39.2% for females at Ţurcană breed (black variety), while at Ţurcană breed (grey variety), it reached 42.2% for males and 38.8% for females.

CERCETĂRI PRIVIND APTITUDINILE PENTRU CARNE CARACTERISTICE TINERETULUI OVIN APARŢINÂND RASELOR LOCALE DIN ROMÂNIA

Rezumat
În cadrul cercetărilor efectuate am studiat şi analizat potenţialul pentru producţia de carne a tineretului ovin aparţinând raselor autohtone de ovine din România în procesul de îngrăşare. Pentru o evidenţiere corectă cercetările au fost efectuate ţinându-se cont de rasă, varietate şi sex. În ceea ce priveşte creşterea în greutate, am constatat că cele mai mari valori au fost obţinute de către tinereul ovin aparţinând rasei Ţigaie care a realizat 140 g/zi la masculi şi 123 g/zi la femele. Valorile sporului mediu zilnic a fost mai redus la rasa Ţurcană, valorile acestui indicator fiind de 116 g la masculi şi 108 g la femele.
